More dates available

The album celebrates resilience, groove, and joy, drawing on decades of experience and Detroit’s rich musical landscape, where jazz, blues, funk, soul, rock, punk, and electronic music often collide and coalesce.

For this show, McMurray is joined by key Detroit musicians featured on the recording: Maurice O’Neal (keys), Ibrahim Jones (bass), and Jeff Canady (drums). With a career spanning collaborations with legends including BB King, The Rolling Stones, Herbie Hancock and Bootsy Collins, McMurray plays with a focus on musical honesty rather than technical display: as Don Was observes, “He never plays licks for the sake of playing licks… it’s all about honest expression.”
